IRON WORK 2/2

Chuushin Kobo

The incense box comes in two types,
a wooden lid type and a metal lid type.
For the metal lid type, each individual lid has been broken apart
by a hammer
allowing each individual lid to be completely original.

The manufacturer : Hisanori Masuda

This method is called the haochi method, and has traditionally been used to create teapots in Japan.

The sense of beauty created by this method is an art
originally crafted by the traditional Japanese.

As for the wooden lid type,
each lid has been handcrafted and carved by a master-craftsman.

The smooth texture of the walnut tree lid,
and the rough texture of the iron body creates a beautiful harmony.

Glass

Shotoku Glass Co.

Shotoku Glass was established in 1992 and first started off
by manufacturing the portion of the electric bulbs.

In 2003, Shotoku Glass participated in the New York Gift Fair and
won the Best Product Award in the Accent on Design category.

Decanter and Glass Set

Created with the Usuhari technique.
So what will you use it for?

In Japan, generally for sake.
How about wine? But those aren`t wine glasses.

This set is designed to go perfectly with Japanese sake.
Let us teach you the best way to enjoy.

Those of you who like a strong drink can have it straight.
Ladies in Japanese like to pour it over a full glass of ice,
sipping slowly while letting the ice melt.

Delicious!

Gentle and smooth on the palate.
A sublime drinking experience. We hope you enjoy.

2-piece Budoshuki Tumbler Set

We introduce you our Budoshuki tumbler set.
In Japanese BUDO describes the color of grapes.
Thus, the Budoski is a glass for wine.Yet it is not a wineglass!
Take a closer look. One of the basic parts of a wineglass,
the stem is missing. This is a glass for a more casual
wine-drinking experience, as envisioned by our designers.
A wine-glass without a stem can look good too.
This may be something you haven't yet experienced-certainly
not with such thin glass. The Budoshuki has acquired a
very good reputation since going on sale in japan.

Siwa Old 2-Piece Set

The name of the item is Shiwa, a crease. It seems like a
simple thing-twisting the glass slightly during the crafting
process in order to create a crease. In fact, it is a difficult
procedure and must be done while the glass is at just the right
temperature-too hot and the glass collapses limply; too
cold and it becomes impossible to manipulate.

e-glass

In 2005, the "e-glass" series was introduced. These
glasses are made
from recycled fluorescent light tubes and received the top award
in the First Annual Traditional Arts and
Crafts Challenge Awards(Japan).

In 2006, this series was recognized as an environmentally friendly
product and became the first glass product in Japan
to be given the Eco Mark.
