What is Washi?




What is washi? Paper has first been introduced to Japan by the Chinese in 610AD. Since then, for 1300 years, the material has been processed and improved, creating paper that is unique to Japan called the washi.

Today, the washi is valued very highly in the world due to its incomparable strength and beauty.
